MGCCC Lady Bulldogs fight back but fall to Indians

Mississippi Gulf Coast fought back in a back-and-forth game at Itawamba on Saturday, but the women's soccer team lost 4-3 in Fulton.

 

Paris Payne (So., Southampton Foundation/Southampton, England) got the Bulldogs back from their first deficit, scoring the first of her two goals to make it 1-1 in the 37th minute.

 

The Indians (5-3) jumped back in front with six minutes left in the half, but the Bulldogs pushed across two to take the lead before the break. Megan Hammond (Fr., Outwood Academy City/Sheffield, England) scored to tie and Payne's second made it 3-2.

 

Itawamba equalized two minutes after play resumed scored the final goal with 10 minutes left.

 

Gulf Coast (1-5-1) plays at Northwest on Sunday. The Bulldogs kick off at Senatobia at 1 p.m.
