ELLISVILLE – The No.14 Jones College Lady Bobcats began MACJC South Division play with a 4-0 shutout over Mississippi Gulf Coast here Friday night at Bobcat Soccer Field.
In the men's game, the Bulldogs scored a pair of first half goals and downed the Bobcats, 2-0.
Jones will travel to Southwest for more division play on Tuesday. The women's game starts at 2 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. The Bobcats host Meridian on Sept. 6 with the women's game starting at 5 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7 p.m. Both games will be streamed on www.JCJC.TV.
MGCCC hosts Pearl River on Tuesday.

Jones was impressive in moving its record to 2-2 overall, 1-0 in division play.
The Lady Bobcats scored the only goal of the first half wheåçn Sierra McLeod (D'Iberville) got the goal with Natasha Keene (Jersey, UK) getting the assist at 22:57.
Madison LaFontaine (Pass Christian) made it 2-0 at 66:26 when Heather Sullivan (Pearl) got the assist. Just a short time later at 67:30, the "Irish Connection" clicked when Mary Ann O'Kennedy (Sligo, Ireland) put the ball in the net with Rachel Barnaby (Derry, Ireland) on the assist. Jones ended the scoring at 89:40 when Esmeralda Figueroa (Northeast Jones) scored and Olivia Simpson (George County) had the assist.
Alexis Wilson (Long Beach) was in goal for the Lady Bobcats.
MGCCC falls to 0-3 and 0-1.
Bulldogs 2, Bobcats 0
Jones had several opportunities, but the Bulldogs had a quick flurry in the first half and made it stand.
Griffin Bush scored at 25:39 and Cisco Thomas followed with another goal at 28:18 to account for the scoring.
Callum Harley (Whitney Bay, England) was in goal for the Bobcats.
Jones is now 2-2 overall, 0-1 in the league.
MGCCC is 2-1 and 1-0.
