Lady Bears drop 2-1 decision at Meridian

The Lady Bears closed out the MACJC portion of their schedule Tuesday night in Meridian, falling to the host Lady Eagles 2-1.

 

With the loss, the Lady Bears fell to 4-9 overall and finished 1-7 in the South Division. Meridian moved to 3-10, 2-.

 

The Lady Bears held a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half on a goal from Zaria Husband at the 28:12 mark.

                                                                                                                          

Laterika Borden tied the game at 1-1 for the Lady Bears at 46:30 when she prevailed in a one-on-one with the Meridian keeper.

 

The game remained deadlocked until the 74:58 mark when Alandria Smith found the back of the net for what proved to be the game winner.

 

The Lady Bears' season comes to an end on Friday when they host the East Central Lady Warriors in a 3:00 non-division matchup.
