RIDGELAND – The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs moved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the North Division with a 3-1 win here Friday over Itawamba Community College.
Holmes will host Meridian Community College at 1 p.m. Tuesday on the Ridgeland Campus in a non-division game.
The Lady Indians to an early 1-0 lead in the match in the eighth minute.
Holmes tied the match at one in the 15th minute when Madison Deslatte scored off a Kendal Walsh assist. Holmes then went up 2-1 on a goal from Walsh in the 38th minute, and the Lady Bulldogs led 2-1 at the half.
The final goal for the Lady Bulldogs came in the 89th minute when Brooke Burrell scored off a Courtney Turner assist to make the final score, 3-1.
RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs held the Itawamba Community College Indians to a 1-1 tie until late in the match when the Indians scored two goals in two minutes to pull out the 3-1 win here Friday.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the North Division. Holmes will play Meridian Community College on Tuesday on the Ridgeland Campus at 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs struck first in the 46th minute when Jacob McNeely scored on an assist from Rolando Sanchez to go up 1-0. The Bulldogs led 1-0 at halftime.
Itawamba answered in the 52nd minute to tie the game at one. They then added goals in the 86th and 88th minutes to pull out the win.
