POPLARVILLE – For the second time this season, Pearl River Community College was unable to reach a decision in women's soccer.

The Lady Wildcats and Jones County traded first-half scores, and neither team was able to find the net the rest of the game, as the South Division game ended in a 1-1 tie at Ellisville.

PRCC (4-0-2 overall) completed the first round of division play at 2-0-2; JCJC is 3-0-1 overall and in division.

Jones struck first, at 14:55 of the first half on a goal by Mary Margaret Parker, assisted by Aimee Durn, but Pearl River responded just four minutes later on a goal by Kayla Nobles (Hurley), assisted by Sarah Havens (Hurley).

Both teams played tenacious defense through the 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods, as both teams had just seven shots for the game.

Sophomore Karsen Gildea returned in goal for the Lady Wildcats, after missing Tuesday's game against Southwest, and she recorded three saves.

The Lady Wildcats will get into non-division play next week, traveling to Raymond on Wednesday to face Hinds. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. PRCC will return home Sept. 25 to host East Central.
