Gulf Coast women look for first win at Meridian

PERKINSTON — The Mississippi Gulf Coast women's basketball team travels to Meridian on Thursday looking for its first win of the young season.

 

To keep attendance within the governor's COVID-19 restrictions, no tickets are available for the general public. The game will be streamed at https://mcceagles.live/.

 

Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.

•   MGCCC tried to rally from a big second-half deficit against No. 9 Jones but fell short, losing 63-53 at Perk on Monday. Ayanna McNairy (Fr., Brookhaven/Brookhaven) and Sharisse Bridges (Fr., Jackson/Callaway) led the Bulldogs with 12 points each.

•   Meridian beat up on Hinds in Utica, winning 57-39.

Previous Meeting

Nakendra Owens' putback plus an and-1 with 53 seconds left helped lift Gulf Coast to a 57-56 at Perk on Feb. 10, 2020. She finished with what was then a career-high 18.
