GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-1 on the season with a 55-47 win here Thursday night over Baton Rouge Community College, La.

Holmes will travel to Arkansas Baptist College on Monday night at 6 p.m. Holmes will then travel to Hinds on Thursday at 6 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs led 16-9 after one period and 30-19 at halftime. Baton Rouge outscored Holmes in the third period 13-11 and 15-14 in the fourth period, but it was not enough as the Lady Bulldogs held on for the win.

Nina Carpenter led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points while Vaquela Pimpton had 14. Carpenter pulled in 14 rebounds while Tyaira Wilson had eight and Brittany Webster had seven.
