BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Top-ranked Jones College put on an impressive display here Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Bobcats swept Baton Rouge Community College (Louisiana) 12-3 and 9-0. Both games went only five innings.
Jones, 29-4, returns to MACJC play with a 3 p.m. Friday doubleheader at Community Bank Park/Gwen Magee Field vs. Mississippi Delta.
Baton Rouge, 4-30, goes to LSU-Eunice on Sunday.

Jones quickly set the tone in the top of the first inning.
LP Trammell (Germantown) led off the game with a home run. The next batter, Raven Blackwell (St. Patrick), singled and McKennah Sikes (Van Buren, Arkansas) followed with another home run to make it 3-0.
Trammell, Sikes and Rebekah DiLavore (Ocala, Florida) each finished the game with a home run and a single. Faith Denton (Northwest Rankin) had two singles with Raven Blackwell, Hallie Donald (Mooreville) and Mollie Singleterry (Wayne County) adding singles.
Sikes had four RBIs with DiLavore and Singleterry each having two RBIs.
Donald pitched the first three innings and got the win, improving to 15-1. She allowed two runs (none earned), five hits and walked one. Sikes pitched an inning, allowing a run, two hits and recorded a strikeout. Kaeleigh Crutchfield (Clinton Christian) pitched the final inning.
Bailey Duhon singled twice for BRCC.
Kelsey Cifreo pitched all five innings and got the loss.
Jones led 3-0 after an inning, 9-0 after two, 10-2 after three and 11-3 after four.

Lauren Stringer (Taylorsville) and Marley Peagler (Brandon) combined on a one-hit shutout in game two.
Stringer went the first three innings and got the win. Stringer, 9-1, allowed no runs, one hit, walked none and struck out three. Peagler allowed no runs, no hits, walked none and struck out two.
Trammell homered, doubled and scored three runs. She now has a team-leading 13 home runs on the season. DiLavore also homered with Gracie McCleskey (Caledonia), Sikes, Kayla Collins (East Central) and Haley Hanson (Jackson Prep) adding singles. Trammell, Collins and DiLavore each had two RBIs.
Blayne Pence singled for BRCC's only hit.
Duhon went the distance and got the loss.
Jones led 3-0 after an inning, 5-0 after two, 6-0 after three and 9-0 after four.
