Mississippi Gulf Coast scored twice in a three-minute span of the first half to beat Jones in the MACJC South opener Thursday in Ellisville.

Griffin Bush (So., Pearl/Pearl) opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and Cisco Thomas (So., Meadowvale Secondary/Mississauga, Ontario) put a rebound off a set piece in to make it 2-0.

Gulf Coast (2-1, 1-0 South) returns to action Tuesday when archrival Pearl River visits Bary Thrash Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
