POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College opened the 2017 soccer season with a 3-1 victory over Holmes in a men-only contest Tuesday at Ridgeland.

Freshman Bo Bowman from Bay High scored a goal and had an assist to lead PRCC.

Sophomore Mark Johnson,also from Bay High opened the scoring with an unassisted first-half goal, then Bowman assisted redshirt sophomore Kyle Estess of West Jones with a goal in the second half, before Bowman closed out the scoring on a solo goal.

Both Pearl River teams will take the field on Saturday for the regular-season home opener against Itawamba. The women kick off at noon, followed at 2 p.m. by the men. Both games will be livestreamed on prccmedia.com.
