ELLISVILLE – The Jones County Junior College Bobcats won its third straight game with a 96-63 decision over the William Carey University Junior Varsity here Thursday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
It was the third straight victory for the Bobcats as they improved to 5-3 on the season.
JCJC led by as much as 46-13 in the first half and was up 49-19 at halftime.
The Bobcats' largest lead of the night was 84-35 midway through the second half before the Crusaders rallied.
David McCoy (Meridian) led four JCJC players in double figures with 20 points. Mason Daniels (Atlanta, Georgia) added 12, Winceton Edwards (Oak Grove) had 11 and Malik Henry (Terry) finished with 10.
Javonte McDonald led William Carey, 1-7, with 18 points and Julius Buckhalter added 14.
The Bobcats travel to No. 14 Shelton State (Alabama) at 4 p.m. Saturday in Tuscaloosa. JCJC's next home game will be on Jan. 8 against Louisiana Christian Prep.
William Carey's next contest is Jan. 16 at Louisiana Christian Prep.
