The Bears went over the century mark Saturday afternoon in Mobile as they defeated the Spring Hill Badgers JV squad 118-76. The win kept the Bears perfect on the young season at 6-0.

A Ricardo Lynch trey and a pair of Jeremy Harrell buckets put the Bears up 7-0 early in the contest. A Howard Smith layup with 10:42 left in the first half then resulted in a 26-12 lead for the Bears.

An Antonio Cowart, Jr., three pointer and John Knight layup later served as bookends to seven-straight points from the Bears that left them on top 41-19 with 6:38 before the break. Roydell Brown then hit a short jumper with 5:11 on the clock to give the Bears their biggest lead of the half, 49-22, before they went on to lead 52-30 at intermission.

Harrell scored the first points of the second half, to increase the Bears' advantage to 54-30. The Badgers then showed they had some fight in them as they went on a 15-3 run to narrow the Bears' lead to 61-49 with 16:46 left in the game.

That would prove to be as close as the Badgers would get as the Bears scored the next 10 points to take a 70-41 lead with 14:41 to go. The Bears would then score 20 of the final 31 points in the game to secure the win.

Harrell hit 14 of 16 field goals and was 4-5 from the free throw line to lead all scorers with 32 points. Brown totaled 18 points and recorded six assists while Cowart, Jr., scored 17 points and also had six assists. Knight registered 12 points while Smith had 10. The Bears made 16 of 20 free throws.

Jamal Gray scored 17 points to lead the Badgers' offense. He and his teammates went 4-7 from the free throw line.

After taking time off for Thanksgiving, the Bears return to action on November 27 when they travel to Clarksdale to face the Coahoma Tigers. Tipoff is set for 8:00.
