MOORHEAD - The Mississippi Delta Community College football home opener was set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, but due to an attempt to get in front of Hurricane Delta, the game has been moved up to 12 p.m. on Friday at Jim Randall Stadium in Moorhead.

The Friday matinee will mark the first contest of the season for the Trojans, while the Tigers of Northeast will enter the contest with a 1-0 mark after defeating Holmes Community College, 35-10, in Booneville a week ago.
Jordan Gilleylen (Tupelo) will look to take full reign of the quarterback position, as the left-hander had a very good season as a rookie. He finished the 2019 season completing 89 of 154 passes for 1,062 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions.
He will have a handful of weapons returning at his disposal, including Treveon Miles (Woodville), who caught 31 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns. He also finished his first season with four rushes for 13 yards and a touchdown.
Another returning wide receiver is Terrell Coleman (Crosby), who had seven receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
On the defensive side, the Trojans will be led by KenTerious Owens (Oxford), a sophomore defensive lineman. Owens, who was named to the JCGridiron.com National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Weakside Ends Watch List, had 34 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks as a freshman in 2019.
Kelton Marshall (Wiggins) had an outstanding stat line as a rookie linebacker, as he had 34 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, two pass breakups and one interception.
Fellow linebackers KeShaun Blackmon (Byram) and Latarius Embry (Maben) return to the Delta in 2020, and both are coming off stellar first-year campaigns. Blackmon had 33 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks, while Embry had 38 tackles and three tackles for loss.
Local standout Su'Metris Stewart (Hollandale) gives MDCC a special teamer with loads of experience, as he had 11 kickoff returns for 286 yards (26 yards per return average) and a touchdown. The sophomore also had 34 tackles, three pass breakups, two interceptions, 1.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks as a defensive back.
Miles, Owens and Stewart were all recently named to the 2020 JucoWeekly Pre-Season All-Mississippi team, due in large part to their efforts as rookies.
