PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will hold its Sophomore Night ceremonies after the women's game Thursday, and the Bulldogs are hoping it will also serve to celebrate a spot in the postseason for the second year in a row.
Tipoff against Hinds is set for 5:30 p.m. The game will be streamed at https://livestream.com/MGCCCBulldogs/events/9004415.
Gulf Coast needs either a win over Hinds or a Jones win at Copiah-Lincoln to clinch a spot in next week's MACJC Tournament at Scooba. The Bulldogs could wind up as a third-seed from the South if they win and Pearl River loses at Meridian. PRCC holds the tiebreaker over MGCCC.
Coach Hope Adams will be honoring seven sophomores following their game: Mia Goolsby (So., Legacy Early College/Greenville S.C.), Allison Martin (So., Raymond/Edwards), Truth Taylor (So., Jim Hill/Jackson), Daphane White (So., St. Martin/Gulfport), Whitney Johnson (So., Gulfport/Gulfport), Nakendra Owens (So., Port Gibson /Port Gibson) and Kayla Simmons (So., Brandon/Brandon).
